Why Waking up early is essential to a Healthy life Style
“Carpe Diem” Sieze the Day
A phrase passed around by people who in many cases simply Don’t!
If waking up early and filling every waking hour sounds like a nightmare stop reading now and return to sleep!
But while the idea of waking up earlier can seem painful, once you start doing it consistently and experience its benefits it becomes a no-brainer. Here are a few simple points why you should get up out of bed.
Healthier Eating Habits: Waking up from a prolonged sleep means a longer fast which causes increased hunger for breakfast, maybe even overeating for some. Waking up early gives you time to prepare and eat a substantial breakfast. If you take time to prepare food for your day (e.g. a healthy breakfast,) it has been proven you will be less likely to eat junk food throughout the day as you have started well and established a good trend. Figuring out what other food you need throughout the day is a major stumbling block for people seeking a healthier lifestyle. More often them stating “I didn’t have the Time”! As I always say, fail to prepare-prepare to fail.
Best time to workout: Your hormone levels and glycogen should be at its highest in the mornings, also as you sleep your body temperature drops, exercise increases it which will make you feel more energised and preform better throughout the day and also burns more calories. Although working out in the afternoon or evening has benefits of relieving stress of day, you are less likely to give the gym a miss due to stress/exhaustion if you workout in the mornings.
Great Productivity: All successful people are early risers, my equation for Success..
Time+Eating Habits+Exercise+Efficiency+Energy= A GREAT STARTING POINT FOR SUCCESS
Because you are up earlier you have more time to eat properly and exercise- making you preform better and more efficiently and have more energy from better sleep quality. Simples!
Better Sleep Quality:Going to bed at the same time each day doesn’t work: sleep may vary depending on your activity levels, diet, sunlight exposure etc … That’s why you have to focus on wake up time, not bedtime. By waking up early at the same time daily, you’ll stabalize your circadian rhythm. This will improve the quality of your sleep and make you feel more energized during the day as a result.
Its important to get the most out of every day and live each day to the full. I’m not against sleeping in or sleep as its important both physically and mentally. After my usual busy days, as soon as my head hits the pillow I’m fast asleep,I try to get to bed around 10/11 to get all my hours but still I wake at 5/6 in the morning full of energy and ready to Go! I have not always been this way but I have seen first hand the benefits of ‘Seizing the Day” and by 9.30 am – 10 am the day is well under way and the majority of my work is done, giving me the opportunity to enjoy time with family, friends, explore new information to offer a better service to my clients and expand my knowledge.
5.24 am tomorrow morning the sun rises , will you be up to see it?
Enjoy your Quest to fitness
